What Retype is
Retype helps you rewrite selected text on your Mac using a keyboard shortcut. This policy describes how we handle information in connection with the app and this website.
Information you provide
The text you select and send for rewriting is processed so the app can return an improved version. Depending on how Retype is built, that processing may happen on your device, through a service we operate, or via a third-party API we integrate. We design Retype to collect only what is needed to perform the rewrite you request.
Website & diagnostics
This marketing site may receive standard server or analytics logs (for example IP address, browser type, and pages viewed) as provided by your host or CDN. We use PostHog on this site for product analytics (for example which pages you view and when you use download or navigation controls). We do not use those logs to sell personal data. Optional app diagnostics or crash reports, if offered, are used only to fix bugs and improve stability.
Sharing & retention
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers needed to operate Retype (for example hosting or AI inference), under obligations consistent with this policy. Retention periods depend on the nature of the data (for example, short-lived processing for a rewrite vs. logs kept for security).
Your choices & security
You control what text you select. You can stop using the app at any time. We use reasonable measures to protect data in transit and at rest where applicable.
Children & international users
Retype is not directed at children under 13. If you use Retype from outside your home country, your information may be processed where we or our providers operate.
Changes & contact
We may update this policy occasionally; the date above will change when we do. Email us with questions or requests.
